I don’t know about you, but we go through a lot of bandages at our house. Seems like every day someone has a cut or scratch that they need fixed up. Since we’re on the go, we often need bandages in the car or at the park, too. While I usually have a good stock of first aid stuff in the hall closet, my hiking backpacks and in the trunk of the car, I don’t often have bandages or medicine in my purses or computer bag. Well, now I do.
Coleman sent me their new travel sized first aid kit. It comes in a tin like an Altoids tin, but it’s marked clearly with the green cross for first aid. It slides right open, and inside are some adhesive bandages, antibiotic ointment, antiseptic wipes, safety pins and a razor blade, and sting relief wipes. Just the right number and kinds of things to have on had for those little bumps and bruises. I’m not sure what I would use a razor blade for, but if parents are concerned about having one in the reach of children, you can remove it. The kit is lightweight and much more savvy than the plastic zipper bag I usually cram the bandaids and tissues into.
I don’t usually purchase little kits that I can make for myself as easily, but this is one I would actually buy. It’s not rocket science, but it fits my style. The size is just right. The very day that I tucked this kit into my purse, I needed the bandages and medicine. I know my kids will be happy that I won’t have to tell them to wrap a tissue around their little wounds until we can make it to the car or home to find a bandage. To find out where to find these and larger kits, go to the Coleman First Aid website.
Coleman sent me an extra kit to give away to my readers, so I’ll be doing My First Ever Giveaway! Leave me your name and email in the comments (email stays hidden from the public), and tell us where it would be handy for you to stash this little kit. The deadline for entry is Monday, January 28, 2013 at midnight Pacific time. I’ll mail to US or Canada addresses. I’ll draw a random name on Tuesday, and announce the winner Tuesday evening.
The Contest is over! Stay tuned for the winner.
Disclaimer: I received these tins as a gift. I was not paid for my review. All opinions are my own.
