Description: Rocks, heather, and amazing views dominate this alpine trail on the shoulder of Mt. Baker. Snows can linger late into the summer, but hikers can usually navigate this trail if there are still some snowy patches. Start in the parking lot to the right of the restrooms, and walk toward Mt. Shuksan. Marvel at the hardy flowers and shrubs, and look up and out at mountains before and behind. There are new photo opportunities with every twist and turn of the path. Even the youngest and oldest hikers will be able to navigate this trail. Wander as far as you like before turning around, but please be sure to stay on the trail, as the alpine vegetation is extremely fragile.
