Distance: 0.5 Miles around the lake
Elevation Gain: Negligible
Season: Mid-Summer through early Fall
Description: Follow this paved path and boardwalk around Picture Lake, with in-your-face views of Mt. Shuksan. On a calm day, the mountain reflects in the water, and photographers flock there to capture the scene. The lake is surrounded by shrubs and grasses, with wildflowers poking through. Birds sing in the subalpine trees. Please stay on the trail, as this alpine area is heavily used and extremely fragile.
Directions: Follow Hwy 542 from Bellingham about 54 miles to the lake. Parking is on the side of the road around the lake. You’ll need your NW Forest Pass to park.
